Troubleshooting: Email Error Codes

When adding a resident, you may see an error message if the email address entered is already in use. Don’t worry, that majority of these issues are easy to resolve.

First, try these quick checks:

  1. Confirm with the resident that you have the correct email address

  2. Check spelling and formatting (eg. .com vs .org)

  3. Ask if the resident uses multiple email accounts (sometimes they provide a different one to communities)

If the issue persists, review the error code below and reach out to your Customer Success Representative for assistance.


Error 500-C

  • This email is already associated with a collaborator in the system

Error 500-R

  • This email is already in use by a resident at another community

Error 500-S

  • This email belongs to a community staff member

Error 500-U

  • Unknown email issue; requires engineering support
